60% Of Homebuyers Prefer Ready To Move or Near-Completion Properties
New Delhi: Poor track of completion of projects by builders had led to around 60 percent of home buyers getting inclined towards those properties which are either ready to move in or homes in which they can move in less than 6 months, according to a survey conducted by ANAROCK property consultants.
About 36 percent of the homebuyers in the country prefer homes that are ready to move in. Another 24 percent would purchase only those properties in which they can move in the next six months.
In Delhi NCR, about 56 percent of the homebuyers prefer ready to move in properties. This is can be understood going by the extremely poor track record of developers in this region. Kolkata, on the other hand, has only around 20 percent of the homebuyers preferring ready to move in houses.
In Hyderabad and Bengaluru, around 44 percent property buyers prefer ready to move in houses. Chennai has 33 percent and Mumbai has 34 percent homebuyers who would like to buy ready to move in houses.
Pune has 28 percent homebuyers showing such inclination.
An analysis by ANAROCK indicates that price difference between under-construction houses and ready-to-move homes has reduced significantly. Without the advantage of lower prices, the attraction of under-construction homes is dwindling.
As per ANAROCK data, around 5.76 lakh houses launched in or before 2013 are stalled at different stages of non-completion in the top seven cities alone.
