8205 low cost homes near Mumbai to be allotted by Mhada
Noida: As many as 8205 low cost homes near Mumbai will be allotted through lottery by Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada). The houses are in localities like Khoni, Virar, Vengurla, Mira Road, Shirdhon and Gotheghar.
Only low-income and mid-income households will be able to participate in the lottery process.
The ad for the lottery application process will be out by 23 August and a computerised draw would be conducted on 14 October 14. “We have kept 97 percent of the houses for the economically weaker section (EWS) and the lower income group (LIG). The entire computerised lottery system would be held in a transparent manner,” said Maharashtra Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad.
Awhad also said that Mhada is going to build 10,000 homes in Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Amravati and Aurangabad.
