Contrary to reports of bleak future for co-working, the flexible office to gain market share in future
New Delhi: Despite news reports gloomy days ahead for co-working operators in the country, the total share of flexible spaces as a percentage of total office spaces will rise to 6-7 percent in the future from the present 3-4 percent, according to report by ANAROCK Property Consultants.
Also, the social distancing requirements in the current scenario due ot the corona pandemic will lead to increase in per capita office space allocations in the country. The per capita has now come to just 75-100 square feet from 100-125 square feet that existed in the last 10 years or so.
Personal safety and hygiene is going to become priority in office spaces. There will also be contactless operations. Even automation will go up everywhere.
Decentralization of business operations will rise so as to make sure business continuity and there will be reversal of sorts from the scenario of consolidations in the last few years.
The retail business will be also see a change in the future. There will be good momentum in online shopping as can be seen from the fact that eCommerce players have already hired 5,000 additional staff their delivery operations during the current lockdown.
Even senior citizens have now embraced online shopping and have adopted technology in their lives in the corona virus era.
There will be revival of malls subject to some conditions. As hygiene factors has become really important now. The malls that can offer this aspect will revive much faster.
