ED seizes property of this Mumbai construction firm

New Delhi: Central agency ED has seized properties, both movable and immovable, worth Rs 4.7 crore of Shree Om Sainath Construction Pvt Ltd and some other persons associated with its director.

The Director of the firm Roopesh Verma has allegedly been involved in a ponzi scheme and his properties that that of the company have been seized under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, the ED said in  a statement.

The attached properties office premises, flats, FDs and some bank balances. 

The ED started probing the matter under PMLA after FIRs registered by Barakhamba Road  police station in New Delhi. The FIRs were filed on the basis of complaints by many investors who said that Shree Om Sainath Car On Rent Pvt Ltd cheated them under the guise of well designed plan called ''Car Rental and Resort Scheme''.

Shree Om Sainath Car On Rent Pvt Ltd allured investors to invest money after promising them huge returns. However, the post-dated cheques by the company got dishonored and that is when the investors realized they have been duped.
