Fee for sanctioning of building plans in Karnataka slashed

New Delhi: Karnataka Government has cut the fee decided last year for sanctioning of building plans for residential properties from 0.5 percent per square metre of the guidance value to just 0.2 percent. This translates into a reduction of 60 percent.

In the case of industrial properties, the fee has been lowered from 1 percent to just 0.3 percent. The development or surcharge fee has also been slashed.

The Karnataka Town Planning Authority (Second Amendment) Rules, 2021, were notified only on 21 June in the gazette.

This will make the life of property owners easier as they had postponed their plans to start construction of homes as the fee was increased last year.
