New Delhi: The hotel occupancy rate has touched 35 percent mark in November 2020 after the corona pandemic hit the hospitality hard earlier last year.
The occupancy has been going up month on month since September 2020 The revival in the occupancy rates has been due to largely ‘revenge travel’ in the weekends and festivals.
The important hospitality market of Goa saw occupancy rate of about 55 percent in November 2020. The luxury and upper-upscale hotels in the coastal state did well in November. They saw occupancy levels of 60-70 percent as against the occupancy levels seen in November 2019.
“ The domestic business travel is likely to pick up from March or April 2021 as employees come back to workplaces. Even the domestic leisure will continue to drive occupancy rates across the country.” Jaideep Dang, MD-Hotels & Hospitality Grp, South Asia, JLL said.
