Housing sales jumps 85% in Q3 of this calendar year

New Delhi: The housing sales jumped 85 percent in the third quarter of the current calendar year at 35,132 units as compared to the immediately preceding quarter. New launches also jumped about 60 percent at 19,865 homes in the third quarter in the top eight cities of the country. 

Hyderabad witnessed an increase in sales at 3,260 houses in the third quarter, registering a jump of 197 percent over the immediately preceding quarter. However, as compared to the third quarter of last calendar year, the housing sales dropped 57 percent in the city.

Ahmedabad showed an increase in sales at 3,339 units in the third quarter, registering an increase of 183 percent over the immediately preceding quarter. However, as compared to the third quarter of last calendar year, the housing sales declined 48 percent in the city, according to a report by property portal Proptiger.com.

Delhi NCR saw an increase in sales at 4,427 houses in the third quarter, registering a jump of 135 percent over the immediately preceding quarter. However, as compared to the third quarter of last calendar year, the housing sales dropped 39 percent in the city.

Kolkata showed an increase in sales at 2,479 units in the third quarter, registering an increase of 88 percent over the immediately preceding quarter. However, as compared to the third quarter of last calendar year, the housing sales declined 24 percent in the city.
