Is Cars 24 the most fraud start-up in India?
New Delhi: Automobile startup Cars24 has garnered severe criticism from its customers on various consumer complaint forums alleging fraud, misrepresentation and cheating.
The complaints have come from all parts of India where the customers of the company have alleged extreme harassment by Cars 24. They have alleged several anomalies in the promises made by the officials of the company and actual delivery.
On a consumer complaint forum www.complaintboard.in, a customer by the name of Sanjiv Anand has alleged that he sold his vehicle to Cars 24 for scrap and the company promised that Anand will get his ‘vehicle chassis number and scrap note’ delivered within 15 days from the date of sale but even after one and a half months of sale, he did not receive the vehicle chassis number and scrap note despite several requests to the official of the company.
Another complainant of www.complaintboard.in has alleged in her online complaint that she was made to pay an booking amount of Rs 20,000 by Cars24 officials for a car that was already booked by someone else. Then when she didn’t find another car of her choice from among the cars offered lot by the company as alternatives, Cars24 allegedly did not refund her money.
On another consumer complaint forum www.www.consumercomplaints.in, there are thousands of complaints against Cars 24. A complainant by the name of Udit Kumar in Noida has alleged that he sold his car to Cars 24 in 2020 but even in 2021 he got a challan by traffic police, hinting the cars documents were not transferred by Cars 24 in the name of the new customer of the car.
Another complainant on www.www.consumercomplaints.in by the name of Ramit Dua from Delhi has alleged that he sold his Maruti Alto car to Cars 24 but did not receive his last and final payment from Cars 24 of Rs 10,000.
It is surprising that cricketer MS Dhoni, who has otherwise made a good name for himself, has invested in this company which has amassed such massive criticism on all consumer complaint forums in few years of its operations.
