IT Dept surveys L&T's head office over alleged tax irregularities
New Delhi: The investigation division of Income Tax Department is surveying offices of country’s biggest infra company Larsen & Toubro after it received some information about the company from Goods and Services Tax department.
The survey is being conducted to ascertain the magnitude of alleged tax evasion by the company.
The IT Department is particularly looking at the input tax credit availed by the infra player as it had received information from the Goods and Services Tax department about it. The officers are currently at L&T headquarters in Mumbai, according to sources.
