Karnataka imposes complete ban on construction activities during weekends

New Delhi: Karnataka has imposed a complete ban on all construction activities during the weekends, in line with weekend curfew in the state.

"We have banned all civil and all construction work during weekends, till the weekend curfew is in force. As of now, weekend curfew will be in force till May 4," said Revenue Minister, Kanatka, R. Ashoka. He is also the serving vice-chairman of the Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority.

It is pertinent to note that provision on night curfew and even weekend curfew in the state that were issued on Wednesday and Thursday had said that construction will be allowed.

Ashoka added that no one will be permitted to move anywhere during this period except for those who are related to fire, police, water supply, electricity supply, telecom and patients, while milk booths, meat shops and grocery shops.
