NHAI bars this infra player for future projects
New Delhi: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has debarred infra firm SNC Lavalin Infrastructure from engaging in any NHAI project for two years.
The company was earlier called SPAN Consultant.
SNC Lavalin was engaged for the consultancy services for 4-laning of Parwanoo-Solan stretch in Himachal Pradesh. “It (SNC Lavalin) failed to deliver as per the contract provisions which led to loss of time and increased costs, besides litigation,” said NHAI in a statement.
Even show-cause notice was served on the infra player by NHAI for deficient services for the project. The company did not respond to that, NHAI said.
Some of the main deficiencies in consultancy services by SNC Lavalin included faulty alignment and even inadequate provisions for the protection of slopes after cutting o nearby hill caused damage to buildings and even delay in the completion of the project caused toll losses.
