Properties in posh localities of VK Sasikala’s relatives seized

New Delhi: Chennai administration has confiscated six prime properties of VN Sudhakaran and J Ilavarasi who are relatives of VK Sasikala. The properties are located in Wallace Garden and Alwarpet.

These properties were seized in relation a February 2017 Supreme Court order which uphold conviction of the two in a case of owing disproportionate assets in which former CM Jayalalithaa was the prime accused. Even Sasikala was convicted in the February 2017 Supreme Court ruling. 

 One of the properties on Wallace Garden First Street was acquired in 1994. It is spread over 1,087 square feet with an undivided share of land parcel admeasuring about 581 square feet.

Three more properties on Wallace Garden First Street were confiscated. A double storey bungalow on TTK Road in Alwarpet, admeasuring around 4,300 square feet of built up space has also been confiscated, according to a statement by the city administration. 

Governemnt officials said the market price of the confiscated properties was about Rs 25 crore.
