Realtors Fail To Get Anticipatory Bail Over Illegal Construction In Shahberi Village
New Delhi: In yet another case involving regulatory action against realtors, pleas of 19 developers for anticipatory bail have been rejected in cases related to illegal construction activity in Shahberi village of Greater Noida, according to news reports.
The bail pleas were dismissed as the court noted that the construction of high rise buildings and the sales of properties in these buildings were carried out illegally in the region notified by Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) way back in 2013.
The illegal construction activity went on for four years in the area and the court pulled up police, local authority and administration of the area for turning a blind eye to the construction activity.
The court also asked the GNIA to take suitable action against its own officials to did not act to prevent illegal construction in the area.
It can be recalled that in July 2018, two buildings had collapsed in the Shahberi village and nice people had died in the mishap. An investigation had found that the buildings were constructed illegally. It was also found the other high-rises were also constructed without any approval.
The 19 developers who applied for the anticipatory bails said that they had carried out construction on their private land. They added that all the getting electricity connection, sewer connection and other amenities were done after following due legal process.
