Talangana to hike property registry fees by up to 5 times

New Delhi: The registration charges for various types of properties can up sharply in Telangana very soon.

The registration fees can go up between 30-400 percent in the state depending on where the property is located. The hiked rates can come into effect as early as 1 August.

The Cabinet sub-committee on resource mobilisation has recommended a hike in registration values of various types of agriculture and non-agriculture lands as well as residential and commercial properties in tandem with the increase in market values in the last 8 years.

The registration charges of properties were last revised in 2013 when Andhra Pradesh was no divided. There was a stark difference in government and market values of land parcels after the division of the state as there was a realty boom.
