UltraTech Cement net profit drops 45% to Rs 1,774 cr for Q4FY21
New Delhi: UltraTech Cement, part of Aditya Birla Group, clocked 45 percent drop in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,774 crore for the fourth quarter of the last fiscal as compared to a net profit of Rs 3,236 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
The loss in the forts quarter of last fiscal was mainly on account of reversal of deferred tax liabilities.
The company’s revenue from operations jumped 33 percent at Rs 14,406 crore as compared to Rs 10,854 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Company’s profit before interest, depreciation and tax was Rs 3,751 crore as compared to Rs 2,645 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. The total expenses were at Rs 11,790 crore, up 23 percent from Rs 9,593 crore earlier.
For the whole of last fiscal 2020-21, company’s net profit dropped 5 percent to Rs 5,461 crore as compared to Rs 5,750 crore in the previous fiscal. The revenue from operations for the whole of last fiscal jumped 5 percent to Rs 44,725 crore as compared to Rs 42,429 crore in 2019-20.
