Unitech's founder, daughter-in-law arrested by ED
New Delhi: Central government probe agency ED has arrested realty player Unitech’s founder Ramesh Chandra and his daughter-in-law Preeti Chandra in relation to a money-laundering case against the company and its promoters, the ED said in a statement.
The ED also arrested an official of Carnoustie Management (India) Pvt-Rajesh Malik. All three will be produced before a court on Tuesday. The ED had recently attached 29 land parcels valued at around Rs 30.29 crore in connection with the embattled Unitech Group.
Recent ED investigations have revealed that Unitech diverted about Rs 348 crore illegally to Carnoustie Grp which used the money to purchase many immovable properties in India and overseas through its entities.
