UP-RERA issues show cause notice to Supertech

New Delhi: Taking a strict view on errant Supertech Realtors, UP-RERA has issued a show cause notice to the company asking it to give explanation why its application for registration of projects ‘Golf Country GH01-Phase-1A’ and ‘Golf Country GH01-Phase-1 B’ should not be rejected.

The notice has been served by UP-RERA under Section 5 (1) of the RERA Act.

Interestingly, UP-RERA had fined Supertech in January also for non-compliance of its orders. UP-RERA had penalized the company under provisions of section 63 of RERA Act that allows the RERA Authority to put penalties of up to 5 percent of the project cost for not obeying orders of the Authority by the promoters.

UP-RERA had also decided in Septmeber last year to carry out forensic audit of accounts of ‘Supernova Phase-I’, ‘Phase-II’, ‘Phase-III’ and ‘Phase-IV’. The Authority had also issued show-cause notice to Supertech for revoking the registration of ‘Supernova Phase-IV’.

Supertech had 2,454 complaints registered against itself, its promoters and the affiliated companies. There are 36 real estate projects registered by the realty firm but UP-RERA says the company has not shown ‘keen interest to complete many’ of the incomplete projects. Supertech’s 20 projects have either seen lapse of registration or are incomplete.
