Work commences on 33 highway projects worth Rs 11,000 cr in this state

New Delhi: Government has commenced construction of 33 highway construction projects measuring 1,197 kilometer worth Rs 10,904 crore in Karnataka. 

The projects include four-laning of the whole of coastal road from Goa border right up to Kerala border. This project will connect cities of Karwar, Belekeri and Mangalore and will measure 278 kilometer. The project cost is Rs 3,443 crore, accorind to government statement.

The projects also include protective measures on the hill slopes in Charmadi Ghat on NH-73, Shiradi Ghat on NH-75 and Sampaje Ghat on NH-275.

The central government will invest Rs 1,16,144 crore in Karnataka in the next few years.
